Tackling Georgia’s Gang Crisis Head-On
ATLANTA – Recognizing the gang crisis facing the state of Georgia, Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr is tackling the problem head-on. Carr yesterday held a briefing, which included top law enforcement officials from across the state.
During the briefing, Georgia’s three U.S. Attorneys, as well as District Attorneys from across Georgia, discussed how to address the numerous issues surrounding this problem, including a rise in recruitment levels, with a unified response.
“We recognize that there is a crisis. We’ve got to deal with it, and we want to deal with it,” said Attorney General Carr. “Just as we have done with our Statewide Opioid Task Force, we are taking an all-in approach to fight back and improve communication among all who are on the front lines every day protecting the citizens of Georgia. If we take the right steps, we’ll win and do a better job to protect Georgia.”
Next week, Georgia Attorney General Carr will also address the Georgia Gang Investigators Association during their conference in Young Harris, Georgia.
